Top Trending Colour Combinations for Autumn & Winter

Although this week’s weather feels anything but wintry, the cooler season is quietly approaching. In this week’s newsletter, I’m sharing five more trending colour combinations to look out for this autumn and winter, along with some ideas on how to incorporate them into your wardrobe.

Last week you may have seen some of the fun colour pairings I spoke about, such as Green and Espresso, and today we’re continuing with a few more stylish options to refresh your look for the season ahead.

As I always say, we all have to get dressed every day, so why not do it in a way that brings your best self forward.

1. Navy Blue & Camel
Starting off with a classic colour combination that never goes out of style. The warmth of camel balances the depth of navy, creating a look that feels both elegant and timeless.

This pairing works wonderfully in winter wardrobes because it allows you to layer with ease. Here my tip is to invest in a good quality camel coat that will last through the years.

2. Butter Yellow & Chocolate Brown
You may remember me talking about butter yellow as one of the standout colours for summer and it’s certainly carrying through into winter as well. Fun, fresh and a little unexpected, butter yellow paired with chocolate brown is a colour combination that feels both playful and sophisticated. The softness of butter yellow brings a light, uplifting feel to an outfit, while the richness of chocolate brown brings warmth.

3. Burgundy & Grey
Burgundy and grey are a beautiful colour combination. With the warmth from the burgundy, you can’t go wrong. Here I love to add pops of burgundy through accessories such as scarves, bags, shoes or even lipstick. The pair brings a real sophisticated and elegant look.

4. Pink & Burgundy:
Bold, fun and fabulous, burgundy and pink are a colour combination that feels fresh and unexpectedly chic for winter. The richness of burgundy grounds the look, while pink adds a softer, playful contrast that instantly brightens an outfit.

5. Blue & Navy Blue:
Who says there’s such a thing as too much blue? Pairing blue with navy is a beautiful option for winter and creates a layered look that feels both polished and effortless. This could be as simple as a light blue shirt or a pair of light-wash jeans styled with a navy coat or knit. The softer blue tones help break up the depth of navy, creating a look that feels more relaxed and less harsh than pairing everything with black.

As we move into the cooler months, playing with colour combinations is one of the easiest ways to refresh your wardrobe without completely starting from scratch. Often, it’s simply about pairing pieces you may already own in new and thoughtful ways.

When shopping for the upcoming season, keep these colour combinations in mind and look for items that can easily mix and match with what is already in your wardrobe. A well-chosen colour palette can make getting dressed feel effortless, stylish and intentional.

Yours in fashion,
Julie
