I am going to be posting a series of “What I am wearing” this winter over the next few weeks on the blog so stay tuned. I had a fabulous photography session with http://abigailk.co.za/ last week having fun dressing up in all my various outfits and having pics taken. It is not easy being in front of the camera but Abigail makes you feel so comfortable, guiding you and making you look like a million dollars!! Below are the first two looks:
I absolutely love this new take on a cardi/coat for this season in camel, it has a self tie belt, no waterfall shape and hangs beautifully and looks equally good worn with white jeans and ankle boots in neutral, this is from Trenery and is also available in grey. I have worn it over a basic white long sleeve t shirt and my denim Spanx jegging available from Inner Secrets and long tan boots that I bought last year from Via Veneto in Constantia Village. Even if they no longer stock these boots there are an assortment of tan boots in stores at the moment and it shows that there is longevity in buying a good quality leather tan pair of boots as it will last you for years to come. The gold ring is from Vibrance Resin (http://www.vibranceresin.com/) which I discovered more recently. Sunglasses are Prada and from Debbie Beattie at Select Sunglasses, I buy all my sunglasses from Debbie as she is much better priced than if you buy at retail level.
Monochrome is still a very big look for winter and is never likely to date. Don’t be afraid to wear 2 – 3 different patterns of black/white all at once like I have as long as they are all the same tone you can get away with it. As you may have noticed the sneaker trend is huge at the moment and is still going strong, the whole vibe of this is to dress smartly and then add sneakers to bring it down to street level, besides the fact that sneakers are comfortable to walk in! I have barely worn my boots this winter and gone crazy with buying sneakers in different shapes and colours! The black faux leather leggings are from Spanx (again!) from Inner Secrets, stripe top from Witchery, patterned coat from Madison boutique (http://www.madisonboutique.co.za/) in Constantia Village who stock an assortment of imported brands like Metalicus, Yaya, Anna Scott and many more. The black/white animal print scarf is from Carol at Lilli who sells the cashmere and ultra down jacketsand the sneakers are from Footgear in Access Park.
