Styling Bailey Schneider

I’m sure by now you would have seen some images on social media, but I had such an amazing day shopping with Bailey Schneider last week who is a TV and radio presenter for Smile FM 90.4 radio.

We started off at Inner Secrets in Cavendish where Bailey was professionally measured and decked out in some supportive Spanx foundation wear, and as you know by now; outerwear always looks better when you have underwear that fits correctly. Bailey was completely taken by surprise on what her actual size was; much to her delight! We ended up walking away with a basic t-shirt bra, some supportive shapers and a pair of denim Spanx jeggings.

From Inner Secrets, we moved onto Nicky Healy’s boutique in Constantia where the styling continued in between lots of laughing and sipping wine. Here are some of the gorgeous pieces that Bailey walked away with:

The striped top from Nicky Healy pairs beautifully with the Spanx jeggings and the copper leather sandals from House of Cinnamon. The wishbone necklace adds a touch of style drawing the eye into a V shape, which is very flattering if you are slightly top heavy.

Part of the beauty of the Spanx jeggings is how you can mix and match them with so many different tops, like I have done with the off white (which funny enough is called the ‘Bailey Top’) and ochre tops from Kinda, which are loose around the tummy area and very forgiving. Again, adding a longer length fine necklace works well with these items, but you can also go for something more chunky.

Even though Bailey has her own radio show she still needs to look stylish and presentable, as she often has guests in studio. This makes an easy-to-wear dress, like this floral shirt dress from Whistle & Flute, a cool and comfortable option which can also be worn with the copper House of Cinnamon sandals. The dress is a busy print already so it’s best for your shoes to be a neutral colour so that both items are not fighting for attention.

Who can resist a pair of leopard print pants? These easy wear, back elasticated soft pants from Whistle & Flute tick all the boxes when it comes to comfort and style. Here, I have teamed them with a cream top from Kinda, but they can also easily be worn with a plain white t-shirt and black sandals from Saint & Summer for a day time look. If you’re going out later swap the flats for heels and add some accessories!

I have always loved the colour navy as a classic basic, especially for summer, as it is so easy to dress it up or down. This knit dress from Kinda is the perfect dress to wear for a casual occasion or a more fancy event. Here, I’ve gone for the more casual look and teamed the dress with the copper sandals from House of Cinnamon. As the seasons change add a printed scarf to style it up.

Staying with the navy theme, this white/navy embroidered top from Nicky Healy just works so well with the Spanx jeggings and versatile House of Cinnamon sandals. It’s a beautiful summer look that doesn’t need much accessorising because of the fabulous pattern on the top. You can also add a gorgeous neutral bag for when you go out.

A special thanks to Bailey Schneider for letting me style her, and Inner Secrets and Nicky Healy for letting us use their stores for the styling and shoot.

Yours in fashion,

Julie
