A continuation of last week’s blog finds me in the dazzling world of jewels. I have a massive weakness for jewellery – a perfect complement to any outfit.

I’m a sucker for rings in all shapes and sizes. I justify these rather expensive purchases by thinking that I will pass them down to my daughter one day which is exactly what my mom did, I blame my mom for my predilection! Not to mention that most of my favourite jewellers are having amazing sales on their works of art.

I have had my eye on this mini lily pad ring from Kirsten Goss for years, ever since the original won the best design of the year award at Design Indaba. So, I bought the mini version which was discounted by 15%, which definitely made it more affordable. Its golden sheen is the perfect match for any winter or summer wardrobe.

My all-time favourite jeweller designer Ida Elsje – one incredibly talented lady! I came across her work a few years back and I have subsequently been making a few investment purchases with over the years. I honestly wish I could afford to buy everything she designs but alas I need to do some saving during this lockdown. These petunia earrings and golden rings are some of my top purchases to date!

Another brand that I simply adore, a firm favourite, is Freerange Jewels. Currently, they are running a massive 60% off sale on every single item online! I reckon now would be the best time to buy that something you may have had your eye on for ages or drop a sneaky hint here or there to your partner for that special birthday gift or Christmas present.

Pro tip: if you like gold jewellery, make sure to choose shades and variations that best complement your skin tone.

Yours in fashion,
