Earring Crazy

I don’t know what has got into me lately but I have gone positively crazy with shopping and buying earrings, be it on line or in person. So I thought I would share with you what I have bought as a few people have asked me where my earring are from.

I have met Kristin from Black Betty Design on a few occasions and have always admired her work. What I like about her designs is that she would take something classic like a pearl for example and add a very modern twist onto an otherwise boring stone. I saw this pair of her earrings above on her instagram feed and I had to have them. These are made up in two separate parts and can be interchanged with her other styles. I ordered them online and picked them up at her stall in the V&A.

I have had my eye on this pair for a very long time and I finally got to purchase them last week from Beloved Beadwork, they have a stall at the Watershed at the V&A as well as Montebello in Newlands. As you can see I only wear gold but this pair of earrings comes in an assortment of colours and is all hand beaded and designed locally.

A friend of mine wore these when I caught up with her for coffee a few weeks back and needless to say I had to have these too! I have come across Pamela Dean-Dundas before though at Kamers. I love the fact that they are asymmetrical which is different from the norm, they are beautifully cut and crafted.

These for me are understated but elegant and almost replace the classic stud earring in the sense that I can wear them everyday and with any outfit. Spirit Jewellery hardly needs any introduction as they have been in business since 2010 and are stocked at many independent boutiques nation wide. Spirit Jewellery can also be found at the Watershed at the V&A as well as the Bay Harbour market in Hout Bay or of course online.

For something completely different I came across these embellished tear drop stone earrings at Kingdom at the Woodstock Exchange which I plan on wearing to glam up an evening outfit. Kingdom if you haven’t been to yet is definitely a shop worth popping into as it has a varied assortment of merchandise and decor to shop from.

Let me know which is your favourite pair? Happy Shopping.
