Black and white will always be a classic for its timeless colourway. The stark contrast radiates chicness and has to be one of the easiest combinations to put together. It is super easy to pair accessories with this trend and the look can be taken from day to night effortlessly.
The smart/casual look
This is a look you can easily dress up or down. The sleek skirt is a must-have from Spanx at Inner Secrets Lingerie, who have expanded their range to include skirts that perform the same slimming function as the leggings. I have dressed the flattering skirt down with a simple, illustrative t-shirt from Tilone, which can be paired with sporty sliders and a denim jacket to emphasise the casual, everyday look.
For a look suitable to the office you can pair the skirt with a white blouse and heels, and for the evening; a sexy sequin top. The gorgeous bag from Mat & May is super versatile so can easily be worn with a casual or smart look.
The printed dress
Here, I’m wearing a fabulous black and white print dress from Ruff Tung, who have become synonymous for their amazing, unique prints. This dress looks amazing when you add a pop of colour by accessorising, as I have done with the bold yellow ballet flats from House of Cinnamon and matching necklace. Use any of your favourite colours to add some glamour to the outfit, but simple plain accessories work perfectly too, like these chunky earrings from Poetry. Lastly, add a classic black handbag like the one below from Willow Tree and a pair of neutral sunglasses like the ones I’m wearing from Select Sunglasses.
The nautical look
You’d usually find the nautical look in navy, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way you can wear it. Here, I’ve drawn inspiration from the nautical look to create a black and white version. The soft, flowing skirt is from Kinda and pairs well with the striped top from Country Road, adding that first touch of the nautical theme. Add a tailored all white jacket to the outfit, like this one from David Jones to give a touch of elegance, then bring in some polka dots to further emphasise the nautical look like I have done with this playful scarf from Mr Price. Lastly, finish the look off with a basic black handbag from Willow Tree and some black thong sandals from House of Cinnamon, and you’re good to go.
