Monochrome

If you can’t get your head around all the colour for the season then monochrome is for you. A good way to wear the printed soft pant is in the black/white look, team it with a white vest, classic black pumps, and pull it together with a black belt and a classic blazer. (see pic)

Brights

It’s a bright season ahead and time to embrace some colour. Combine the same tones of bright colours together in your outfit, if you dare go over the top and make sure you wear colour into your accessories as well. Or if you are like me and you don’t want to be seen coming from a mile away play with bright colours in items such as scarves or accessories and freshen up with some white items. (see pic)

Sherbet or Midtones

The newest of trends for summer and one of my favourites. A fresh change of pace but beware as its daunting to also wear all this colour on top of one another as it is being shown in all major retailers and not look like an ice cream. Tone it down with some neutral accessories such as bags, belts and shoes.

Pastel

Essentially a toned down version of the midtone colours but teamed with clotted cream, a very feminine and pretty palette. Combine different textures to keep it from looking flat.

Short dresses

Dresses are still a key item for S’12 and so easy to wear, accessorise with a summer scarf, belt and wedges and you are good to go!

Maxi Dresses

A continuation from last summer in stripes, prints or plains, also easy to wear and cover up flabby or untaned upper arms with a mesh cardi.

Shoes

Pumps, wedges or sandals in all shapes and colours is the staple footwear for summer. The newness though is called the “flatform” which is a combination of a flat and a platform, unusual but so comfy to wear.
